Pearson Edexcel International A Level Maths and Further Maths examiner

Harry is a current examiner for Pearson Edexcel International A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics.

He has so far examined P1 and has marked approximately 2,000 questions in his role as a Pearson Edexcel International A Level examiner.

Throughout his teaching career, Harry has marked thousands of examination and mock questions.

His examining experience gives him a detailed understanding of:

  • How mathematical reasoning should be presented

  • Where students commonly lose marks

  • How mark schemes distinguish incomplete solutions

  • The difference between a minor slip and an incorrect method

Harry uses this experience to help students understand not only how to reach an answer, but how to communicate their reasoning clearly enough to earn the available marks.

Harry’s examiner appointment is independent of Get Me That Grade. Pearson does not endorse or authorise the tuition service.

Testimonials and Google Reviews

“I did my Maths GCSE early in November and got a U. Harry became my tutor and I resat Maths. In the summer, I received my GCSE results and got a grade B.

The most useful thing about Harry’s tuition was everything! The biggest change for me was my understanding.

If another student was considering tuition, I’d say: have Harry as a tutor.”
— October 2026 — Ava, Get Me That Grade GCSE Mathematics student
“I wanted to improve the way I approached ESAT problems. Harry gave incredibly clear explanations and really helpful advice for dealing with the challenging time pressure of the test. Working with him changed the way I approach difficult problems and helped me spot the most time-efficient way of solving them. Harry’s help is 100% worth it. Even after my first session, I could already see ESAT questions differently and felt much more confident.”
— August 2026 - Jack, a tutee of Harry’s preparing for the ESAT
“I wanted to develop deep mathematical knowledge and ensure the achievement of the highest grades. I found his explanations, guidance, and way of teaching things very useful; I have never grasped mathematical concepts so fast. Harry deepened my love with maths and took me from just a beginner to getting full UMS in P1 before the mid term break! I would particularly recommend his tuition to students who want the best grades and need to improve their understanding of Mathematics quickly.”
— September 2026 — Hamad, a Get Me That Grade tutee studying Pearson Edexcel IAL Mathematics
“Harry’s individual approach to each student was particularly valuable. He identified the key weaknesses and areas for improvement, helping to develop a deeper understanding of individual topics and improve the way problems were worked through.

I also really appreciated his teaching style, the way he interacted with the student, and the passion he brought to the lessons. I would highly recommend Harry.”
— September 2026 — Ilona, parent of a Get Me That Grade GCSE/IGCSE Mathematics student

“I wanted to email to say a very big thank you for teaching me in the Lower Sixth and for all your support and help. Lower Sixth was when I realised how much I loved Maths and that I wanted to continue it on to University and I feel like that is credit to your teaching and enthusiasm. On Friday I will be leaving for university to study Mathematics. I am really excited to see what is store for me… I wouldn’t have been able to get this far without your teaching.”

— Charlie

“Thank you so much for teaching Maths! I genuinely enjoyed every single topic this year and I found the differential equations topic particularly interesting!”

— Frank

“I’m sorry to hear you’re leaving as you’re without doubt the best maths teacher I’ve ever had, even thought you’ve only taught me 1 year I’ve found your lessons informative and enjoyable, and your feedback always spot on and I’ll remember it forever.”

— Michael

“I wanted to thank you for all your help throughout the last year in Maths…. You were the most interesting and enthusiastic teacher that I have ever had and it made your lessons very fun even though maths was a subject that I previously found quite plain. As well as this, you were always very good at explaining topics and always bothered to make sure that we understood them.”

— Kiran

“(From a teaching colleague)

I’ve just had [student X]. He can be a tricky customer. We were studying a poem in which a boy described his school experience as intoxicating - I explained this meant he was almost drunk with excitement and enjoyment. [Student X] said that this is how he feels in his lessons with Mr Williams! He said he wishes his maths lessons with you would never end. Your lessons and Mr Simmon’s physics lessons are the only lesson where he is not always checking the clock. ”

— Katy

“It has been a privilege to have you as my maths teacher over the past year, and your quality of teaching is really what has accelerated my learning.”

— Elian

“Thank you for all you have done for me over the last 2 years. The enrichment sessions and lessons have really helped me and I don’t think I’d have got my Oxford offer without them.”

— Max

“I just wanted to say thank you very much for all the help you have given and offered me over the past 2 and a half years. You have made GCSE and A level (well so far at least) fun to learn and solve problems in.

You are a great explainer and have left me, so far, with probably the best understanding of any subjects I’ve studied so far and made Maths (even if I much prefer the applied part) one of my favourite subjects. Once again, thank you for all your help.”

— Tristan

“He is so nice, so understanding and encouraging! He really cares about every individual student and always takes the time to talk/explain things to us.”

“Always happy to provide advice and to help you plan ways to stay on top of all the work and emphasise the importance of balance. He also allows you to grow as an individual by helping you to identify your weaknesses and guides you to strengthen them one by one.”

“Mr Williams is the most cheerful and positive teacher I’ve ever had. As I’m sure all his students would agree, speaking to Mr Williams never fails to brighten your day.”
